Dan Markewich and Sanjit Shah obtained the unanimous reversal of an arson conviction from New York's Appellate Division First Department on the ground that the trial judge and the prosecutor erred in admitting crucial evidence against the defendant.  Recent statistics indicate that the First Department overturns criminal convictions in only 2% of all appeals.
